Arranging the Funeral
The most important things to do when someone dies are to register the death and arrange the funeral. This is something we can assist you with if you are finding it difficult to cope or live away from the area.
To arrange the funeral you will require the Certificate for burial or cremation for the funeral directors. The funeral directors will be able to assist you with all aspects of planning the funeral. It is also important if the deceased had a will to check whether there were any funeral wishes contained in the will.
Often people worry about paying for the funeral but most banks and building societies will release money from an account held in the deceased’s name to cover the cost of the funeral. If the deceased received state benefits you may also qualify for assistance for the cost of the funeral if the deceased did not have much property or money.
